President Donald Trump released a series of tweets Monday morning enhancing his pro-Border-Wall views by emphasizing a “Nuclear Option if necessary” to pass it through Congress.
The Twitter feed is as follows:
“Mexico has the absolute power not to let these large “Caravans” of people enter their country. They must stop them at their Northern Border, which they can do because their border laws work, not allow them to pass through into our country, which has no effective border laws…..”
“…Congress must immediately pass Border Legislation, use Nuclear Option if necessary, to stop the massive inflow of Drugs and People. Border Patrol Agents (and ICE) are GREAT, but the weak Dem laws don’t allow them to do their job. Act now Congress, our country is being stolen!”
“DACA is dead because the Democrats didn’t care or act, and now everyone wants to get onto the DACA bandwagon… No longer works. Must build Wall and secure our borders with proper Border legislation. Democrats want No Borders, hence drugs and crime!”
So, what exactly is the “Nuclear Option” Trump highlighted on? Does it mean arming agents with nuclear weapons to patrol the border? Not exactly.
Both Democrats and Republicans have their fair share of procrastination tactics deferring the passing of any legislation they deem unworthy.
The president is basically demanding accommodation to Senate rules that would end filibustering which delays any growth on the current border-wall negotiations taking place in D.C.
Sounds like a fair request, but how exactly would that get accomplished?
Well, the White House has not immediately answered questions revealing a direct ploy; meaning: The nation will have to wait and see just how the Trump administration goes about doing so.
