Who would have guessed that 2018 would be the year in which there would be outrage over using presidential power to enforce the law. President Trump’s decision to use the National Guard to stop a caravan of immigrants from Central America has sparked anger and controversy from the left.
Now, it’s no secret that the left generally does not oppose illegal immigration or mass migration. The support of open-border policy by leftists around the world, including in America, and the willingness of west-coast states to oppose federal law has made clear the left’s position. But this is a completely new situation.
The caravan of Central Americans moving through Mexico has caused controversy not solely because they are intending to immigrate illegally to the United States, but because of the arrogance surrounding them. The caravan has an official Facebook page, and posts updates on social media about where they are and what their intentions are. It boggles my mind that there is a movement in America that not only opposes current laws regarding immigration, but actively rails against a President acting in accordance with law and precedent from former President Obama. This outrage has no basis in reality ad has everything to do with opposing anything President Trump does.
