California Goes Against Trump, Withholds National Guard Troops

On Monday, APNews reported that California Governor Jerry Brown will be defying President Trump’s orders to send troops to the U.S. southern border for stricter border security. Brown will not be sending troops to the border, and is openly rejecting the president’s orders.

California has been a sanctuary state for some time now, harboring illegal aliens and letting them live in the state without federal punishment.

From APNews

“According to two U.S. officials, the initial jobs for those troops include fixing and maintaining vehicles, using remote-control surveillance cameras to report suspicious activity to U.S. Border Patrol agents, operating radios and providing “mission support,” which can include clerical work, buying gas and handling payrolls. The officials spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.”

More details as the story develops, but I don’t think Trump and Brown will agree on this one. The president might have to use some power in order to fulfill his campaign promises.
